Climb When Ready, the dedicated Scout Active Support Unit for climbing and adventure activities in West Sussex Scouts, proudly delivered an unforgettable week of high-adrenaline experiences at WSIJ 2025 (West Sussex International Jamboree).
As part of the High Adventure Zone, Climb When Ready provided expert instruction and technical support across a wide range of thrilling activities, including:
- Climbing & Abseiling (featuring a purpose-built abseil tower)
- Crate Stacking
- High Ropes
- Bouncy Trampoline
- Slacklines
- Cave Mazes
- Traverse Wall
- Jacob’s Ladder
From the initial build and rigging of the abseil tower and auto belays, through to the final pack-down, the Climb When Ready team was instrumental in ensuring the zone ran smoothly, safely, and with maximum fun for all participants.
A huge congratulations goes to Chris Evans, who led the High Adventure Zone with skill and enthusiasm. He was supported by a fantastic team including James Wright, Alaric Wood and Sean Edwards and a host of county instructors and volunteers who gave their time and energy to make the week a success.
Climb When Ready continues to champion adventurous activities for young people across West Sussex, and their contribution to WSIJ 2025 is a shining example of Scouting spirit in action.
