This course is aimed at those wishing to gain the skills to take members abseiling & climbing on artificial walls / towers.
It is suitable for all Volunteers, Active Support, Network and Explorer Scouts. No previous climbing experience necessary.
The Course is split over 2 locations (morning and afternoon). Car sharing will be available for those without transport during the day.

This course is aimed at those wishing to gain the skills to take Members climbing on Southern Sandstone outcrops.
It is suitable for all Leaders, Active Support, Network, Explorer Scouts and other Adults in Scouting.
Participation on the ‘Abseiling / Climbing Wall Instructors Course’ or personal experience of climbing & abseiling is preferable.

Single Pitch Rock Climbing Instructor Training Course
- On: 5th – 6th September 2026
- In: The Peak District (various crags)
This course is aimed at those wishing to gain the skills to take members climbing on Single Pitch Crags.
It is suitable for all Leaders, Active Support, Network, Explorer Scouts and other Adults in Scouting.
Participation on the ‘Southern Sandstone Instructors Course’ or personal experience of ‘constructing group belays’ is preferable.
This course is non-residential, but participants can be supplied with details of accommodation / camping in the area.
It is hoped that transport can be arranged between participants / instructors to keep the cost down.
Cost: £45.00 – £45 covers the course fees only. All other costs (travel, food, etc) must be covered by the participant
